To be released by the Japanese themselves this year September 26th, available for pre-order now.
Remarkably, this new release coincides rather closely with Funimation’s recent re-release of the R1 boxset themselves.
Hmmm.. considering that this is a KyoAni production I just might procure it. But due to the hefty price tag (27000 yen which is around SGD340), it wouldn’t be anytime soon. Guess I’ll have to wait till the first semester of university to end first and go work for about a week to get it. Shouldn’t be a problem since I doubt stuff like this will sell out for at least 2 years.
I’m still sore that I missed out on the AIR Blu-Ray boxset when it was first out, but it really couldn’t be helped since I didn’t have a Blu-Ray disc player then. It looks like KyoAni is trying to milk some cash out of re-releasing their works on Blu-Ray which means… gasp… Suzumiya Haruhi next? HD Mikuru anyone? ^^

There’s a crapload of extra video footage, such as the real life places in Hong Kong which some scenes were based on. Really cool stuff, but my wallet can’t handle such a heavy blow. Need more HP.

English audio but no English subtitles??? Its a preorder and may change upon release date, but without the option of Japanese audio and English subs this isnt even worth looking at, which is a shame as is one of my favorite series
