Would firstly like to say… LOL at the site name! I looks like they missed out the Sai in the webby name for what ever reason, and it has become “International Moe League” which just sounds plain wrong.
Its not mentioned often, but the “sai” in saimoe means “most” (Jui in Chinese). Saimoe has been a really popular online tourny where Otaku worldwide voted for their favourite moe character, but I haven’t really made an effort to vote since the original vote sites are in Japanese. You may consider it as a case of plain laziness, but I feel the best way to express your support for the truly moe is to own multiple artbooks/dvds etc. etc. instead of merely casting a vote. More importantly, the votes on the site are probably overwhelmingly Japanese and thus, are not a true indicator of international fandom.
There’s currently an overtime match between Ryuguu Rena from Higurashi and C.C. from Code Geass. I’m personally rooting for Rena so Higurashi fans please support her!

Actually, most of the votes are North American I think. But ISML is definitely trying to get a large international presence. It’s the league’s very first year, so we expect it to take 2-3 years before things really get rolling. But it’s not that we don’t get votes from other countries already (other than Japan, too).
