I know it sucks to open a blogpost on a serious note, but this is my intepretation of the hidden world that the mysterious loli and her robot is living in. It is a world where the truth was revealed to everyone too soon at the wrong time. Sure, its beautiful and endless, but there is only one moe loli living in it. Perhaps, only moe lolis are strong enough to continue to live on despite knowing the filthy truth of the world. Only moe lolis are strong enough. Men are useless, testerone driven pieces of crap XD (Yes, I’m male).

Honestly, would you want to live in this so called perfect world? I don’t think so. I’d rather live in a lousy 3 dimensional world with all its seductive distractions. Perhaps heaven, or in this case Mag Mell, isn’t as perfect as we envision it to be. Some quotes already pop to mind, especially the one from Tribes 2: “Perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel… is an onrushing stream of plasma.” Thinking too far into the future isn’t going to cut it… we should embrace what is available now before its too late.

And the moment we’ve been waiting for… UNIFORM CHANGGEEEEE!!!!

Well, getting that out of the way, Kyoto Animation keeps exceeding my expectations and CLANNAD episode 15 is arguebly the best so far. KyoAni has managed to mix in a bit of everything in this episode: Advancing the plot of the mysterious moe loli and her little robot, advancing the overall main plot, get the girls together in SUMMER UNIFORMS, stick Fuko in (YES!!!), show once again that Sunohara isn’t just a useless tard, some heterosexual (whew) romance, Shounen-Ai and SUMMER UNIFORMS, more Tomoyo (finally!), lots of laughs, Sunohara’s cute little sister and… did I mention summer uniforms?

Starfish power!

If you miss Fuko from her own arc from episodes 1-9, I don’t think you’ll have to worry as it seems the KyoAni will most probably keep inserting her randomly from arc to arc. And that can’t possibly be a bad thing, since no one can get enough of Nonaka Ai and moe lolis, can we?

Best frame this episode.

Moving on, we can see that KyoAni keeps hinting a Nagisa ending for their own intepretation of CLANNAD. One of the fun things about watching renai anime is guessing which girl the protogonist is going to end up with. Although I would say that Tomoya is indeed only one step away from declaring his love for Nagisa or vice versa, we have to factor in that Key has made a sequel to CLANNAD titled Tomoyo After. It is a continuation to CLANNAD’s storyline by establishing a successful romance between Tomoyo and Tomoya. While doing a Nagisa ending will please Nagisa’s fans, it would most certainly end any hope for Key fans who want to see Tomoyo After animated after CLANNAD.

I’d LOVE to see Nagisa’s expression when she sees this. *moe jealousy ftw*

And although I’ve never actually thought highly of Tomoyo, because I erroneously assumed that she was the game’s comic relief with her 700+ hit combos and all, I finally understood in this episode why a hell of a lot of CLANNAD fans like her, and why Key chose her to make a sequel for arguebly their most complex visual novel ever made thus far. Unlike the other heroines who rely on Tomoya to make things connect for them, Tomoyo soldiers on relentlessly without much help. I guess its this womanly inner strength that makes her attractive?

Fact: Nagisa is cute. Certainly isn’t as beautiful as her mother but hell is she cute.

I mean heck, Nagisa can be really cute when she wants to be. Sure, she isn’t outright dashingly beautiful or flashy like Kyou or Tomoyo, but she does put in a lot of effort compared to the other heroines and is clearly on the rebound. Even a Kyou fan like me feels at this point that Nagisa does indeed deserve the ending. But the KyoAni fanboy in me silently resents this, as it would mean a much lower chance of Tomoyo After getting animated.

Not as shocked as Tomoya but still rather shocked.

Well, Suzumiya Haruhi had Kyon’s really cute loli sister and now CLANNAD has their own loli imouto!! While Kyon’s sister was too young and not thoroughly developed as a side-character, I can see that the future is bright for CLANNAD watchers that are imouto-fans! Will she give us the classic and cute “Onii-chan!!!” squeals as she drags Sunohara out of bed? Perhaps in one of the next few episodes, I certainly hope. ^^
